We chose Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit as our wedding venue and brought 40 of our closest friends and family members to the resort. Having visited the resort before the wedding, we knew to expect top-tier service, but we never could have anticipated the extent to which they would exceed our expectations. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the rooms (many people said "this room is bigger than my apartment!;) and how the staff went above and beyond to ensure their comfort. Whether at the wedding or just hanging by the pool, the staff made sure their drinks were always full and water was on-hand. Hernandés craft cocktails by the pool were a definite crowd pleaser, too. During days of heat/humidity, the staff brought around cold towels and spray bottles of Evian to keep the party going. The restaurants are incredible and accommodated groups with grace. Often times we ordered one of every appetizer and dessert for the group to share, and the waiters took care of it without sweating. The groups never had to wait extended periods for food, and everyone left feeling so full and satisfied. The chef could also accommodate any dietary requests or restrictions...and the bartenders could make any drink! The pampering continued throughout our 9-night stay/mini-moon. Se Spa is hands- down the best spa I have ever been to (and several of our guests said the same thing). The ritual of pools before the treatment was unique. The service was personalized and incredibly memorable (thanks, Carmen and Luz!). By the pool, Leonel made sure we were constantly pampered and made us feel like family. He even taught us some Spanish! Our concierge, Alejandra, was available 24/7 to answer any questions or requests we had and always made sure we had a bottle of sparkling wine handy! For anyone looking at wedding venues, I highly recommend Velas weddings. Our coordinator, Jazmin, made the process so easy and enjoyable. I send her emails with crazy ideas and she always found a way to bring them to life... and often recommended smarter ways to make it happen. It was so helpful to have an expert and professional on our team, managing local vendors so we didn't need to worry. Betty helped us manage the schedule on the day of the event and we were so thankful to have her and Jazmin helping us with final details.The final product was beyond our wildest dreams and full of pleasant surprises! The set up was absolutely magical, and we even had some unexpected fireworks during our first dance! The team at Velas resorts is the best-- they know how to throw an incredible wedding and can accommodate any style.
