Our Grand Velas- Riviera Maya wedding was absolutely magical! I wouldn't change a thing about it. First, we chose the resort for our wedding venue because we had been there 2 times prior and loved it. From the start, our wedding coordinators, Monserrat and Paulina, were attentive and responsive. They really helped make all the pre-wedding prep as stress-free as possible for me, answering any questions I had, sharing ideas with me through photos, emails, calls, and even communicating with our guests directly prior to their arrival with any room modifications, upgrades, food allergies, etc. Also, on the day of the wedding, they did an AMAZING job coordinating everything (full Catholic ceremony in chapel, followed by Zen Terrace sit-down reception). My husband and I were really able to enjoy ourselves and not have a single worry, which was a blessing. As far as the resort, its definitely 5-star quality and worth every penny. Clean, friendly staff, daily cleaning service, and your own personal concierge that is on staff to assist you all day, every day. Our Guests all raved about the pools, beach views, restaurants and quality of food and selections at both the buffet and restaurants. We found the GV restaurants to be on par with the top downtown restaurants in downtown Chicago, which is where we live. Also the staff was around 24-7 to assist with food, cocktails or questions, and you are very much treated like royalty as soon as you arrive at the resort, which sounds like the perfect Mexico vacation to me. We consider GV like our destination HOME.
